Mission
Northmen come together to create a community, shared positive experiences, and shared values that forge strong bonds between those who choose to join and support our members (called “Kin”).
As the world around us falls to chaos, nihilism, authoritarian control, and even violence, we come together as a community to protect each other, support each other, and present a guiding example of how to build a family-friendly peaceful community on a voluntary basis. The Virtues of Northmen extend from the “Non-Aggression Principle” of non-interference with others by providing guidance for an honorable, productive, peaceful, and proud path through modern life.
With the Virtues as a guide, Northmen swear Oaths of loyalty, protection, support, and kinship to effectively expand their familial ties, gaining the trust of others and the opportunity to build something larger than themselves that is expected to survive long into the future. Through Rites and Rituals, generations of Northmen can step into their role within the community and face the world with strength and hope.
Vision
Though our numbers are small, Northmen are a tight-knit group of people looking to build a better world as the old one dies. To facilitate the long-term goal of a generational community, the following shorter-term goals are of interest to the Northmen:
Purchase and securing of land dedicated to Northmen activities such as hiking, camping, survival training, weapons training, celebrations, and more.
Construction of a longhouse; a community center where Rites and Rituals are to be conducted, shared property is to be stored, and additional business ventures may be facilitated.
Independent food and water sources such as growing crops, tending livestock, and stockpiling or purifying water.
Productive business ventures, potentially utilizing the land while community activities are not taking place. One venture that comes to mind is establishment of a survival and outdoors camp targeted at adults (especially men) of the modern, pampered world, with the intention of preparing them for upcoming infrastructure issues. Another potential venture would be opening the Northmen justice process to outside clients, charging a small fee to convene a Council to independently implement justice.
Regular meetings and celebrations, some of which are outlined in the Bylaws.
Bunker/arsenal for storage of valuable, long-term, and necessary equipment such as gold, silver, electronics, weapons, ammunition, fuel, etc.
Living quarters such as huts, houses, and the infrastructure to support them.
Training and classes to ensure all able-bodied Northmen are ready to face an increasingly hostile world.
